Hi again ;)

Are you ready to make yogurt? These are the ingredients:

1 litre of milk (I prefer to use low fat milk)

1 cup of yogurt (again I prefer to use low fat yogurt)

That’s it! hahahaha :D

Ok, now..we need to boil the milk. Then pour the milk into a bowl.  Then add yogurt and stir them.  Then cover the yogurt with a piece of cloth for 4 hours.  Then keep refregerated till the next day. Wola!!!  You can eat it with fruits.

I tried to eat with grapes. Yummy!!! ;)

This recipe is given by Saied and Mary (my Iranian friends).  I haven’t given them my yogurt to try and will do this Friday morning.  Well, they are my teacher. So I need ‘my grade’! hahahah..  I am sure I will get A+ although my yogurt doesn’t turn good! ;)   hahahah… Thanks mates! ;)

Hi all,

Finally today I managed to prepare my own seafood spagetti recipe. I’d like to share with you my own recipe.   :)   Hope you enjoy my recipe as I did.  And you know my style, you need to estimate your own measurement of each ingredients :D

Ingredients:

For the sauce

Ginger & Garlic (slice them)

Olive oil

Chili paste

Maggi Tomato Sauce

Maggi Chili Sauce

Rosemary leaves

Blackpepper

Salt

Bolognese Spices

Prawn (clean the prawn)

Cockle/Shellfish (I think you can substitute with mussels) – Boil them first with their shells

Buttoned mushroom (slice them first)

Tomatoes (slice into cube)

Mixed vegetable

How to?

Heat the olive oil (not too much). Then add ginger and garlic.  Then chili paste (1-2 spoons- depends on your taste).  Fry them first.  Then add prawn  and then the cockle with shells.  Then add mushroon, stir..then tomatoes..stir..then mixed vegetable, and stir till you think they are cooked. heheh…  Then add all the spices as above in between. Up to your instinct ;)

As for spaggeti..just boil them till they are soft.  Add a little of olive oil so that they won’t sticky to each other.

Walla!  Hope you enjoy my seafood spagetti!

Hi guys,

A friend of mine is vegetarian.  So, I tried to cook vegetable soup for her with the rice noodle.  Here, I just want to share with you the recipe of the soup. For me, it’s nice to eat with rice noodle.  The same side dishes like fried egg, parsley, and chili pepper sauce.

Let’s me share you how I did my soup. As I mentioned in my last blog, I innovated it from a recipe.  I don’t need a vegetable stock to make my dish tastes good.  Hope this helps:

Ingredients:

Cabbage ( cut into small. the size- up to your preference)

mushroom (you can use shiitake mushroom. I got my mushroom from Giant. I don’t know the name)

Corn in the can

Tomato

Tofu

Bean sprouts

Water

Salt

Pepper

2-3 spoon of soy sauce

Vegetable oil

Ginger and garlic

Red Chili pepper (cut into medium slices)

How to do?

Fry ginger and garlic with vegetable oil

Add water (up to you how much you want)

Add chili pepper and soy sauce

Throw mushroom, corn into the pot

Then the cabbage, tofu, bean sprout, and tomato.

Add white pepper and salt.

Cook for 15 min.

That’s it!  :)   Simple, isn’t it?  Good luck and again, happy cooking ;)

Good morning guys,

How are  you doing?  It’s Sunday mornin and bright.  I wish I could sleep more. At 8, I just automatically woke up!  :)

Last night with the ladies was great.  My soup tasted good.  Loved to share with friends.  Even my vegetable soup was great according to my friends.  I did some inovations from the recipe I got yesterday afternoon. Will share you the recipe.  Another simple dishes that I’d like to share. Let’s do the Rice Noodle Ostrich Take Soup Recipe- I got the recipe from my mom and I added few ingredients.

All right, here we go!

Rice Noodle Ostrich Tale Soup Recipe

Main ingredients:

Ostrich tale (up to you how many kilos do you want.  I just cooked for 4 persons)

Water (depends on how much soup you need)

2 Cinnamon sticks

Cloves (maybe 8-10)

White pepper

Salt

Cabbage, bean sprout (boil them separately)

tomatoes (cut into small cube)

Potato (I prefer Australian potato)

Ginger (a lot of ginger)

Garlic (a lot of garlic)

How to do?

Boil ostrich tail in the water till the meat’s tender

Then add the sliced ginger (your soup will taste better if you have loads of ginger) and garlic (good for your sinus..hehehe) into the pot. Let them boil together.

Add cinnamon sticks and cloves (these two ingredients were from mine.  I love the smell of cinnamon and cloves. That’s why I add them).

Add white pepper and salt (according to your taste. Make sure the taste is just right. Not too salty and hot. Anyway, it depends on your taste ;) )

Boil them until the meat is tender.  You need to add more water in between the boiling.

Oh yeah, cut the potato into small cubes (mouthful). I prefer mouthful cut because it’s easy for people to eat.  Add the cubed potato inside the pot.  Make sure they are tender as well.

Then, add the cabbage when you are ready to serve.  It’s not good to cook vegetable long time.

Time to cook with my rice cooker: 1 hour 15 min (depends on your meat)

For the rice noodle, first soak them with tap water.  After they become soft, then soak them with hot water.  The first soak, it took me about half of the day.  Then with hot water, it took me about 20-30 min.  It’s me.  I know some people they have other ways.

Then, I cut parsley for decoration.

I made some chili sauce – chili pepper with soy sauce. hehehe..

Then, I fried eggs.  I added some salt and peppers and fried with vegetable oil.

Here you go…I know my recipe is up and down. heheh..  Eat the soup when it’s still hot.

Have a good cooking day ;)

Hi all,

Last night, I made or created my own chicken recipe.  Love to share with you of my recipe. Simple and easy ;)   Especially for someone who lives ‘away’ from their mom…hehehe..

I called my recipe as “Sambal Chicken Drumstick  Seri Indah”  hehehe…

Ok..here we go:

Ingredients:

8 chicken drumstick (You can use any part. I had 8 drumstick in the freezer that I bought last month. So, I needed to cook them.  Luckily, my fridge is really good and cold)

Ginger

Garlic

Red onion

Vegetable oil (you can use any type of oil, except petrol, gasoline, etc. hehehe)

Salt

Pepper

Cinnamon powder

Tumeric

2 spoons of tomato puree

2 spoon of chili sauce

4 tomatoes

How to do?

Phase 1 (Same as my research..I have two phases…so the chicken need to follow my style hheheh..)

Marinade drumstick with tumeric, salt and pepper

Then deep fry all the drumstick till they become yellowish.

Then, dry them up from the oil with kitchen towel.

2nd phase:

It’s up to you how much do you want to use the garlic, ginger, and red onion. I love to have a lot of them. Then I slice them.

Then, with little oil, I fry them all. Till they become yellowish, then I add the tomato puree and chili sauce. Lastly, I add the drumstick into my frying pan and then fry them till I ‘feel’ they are cooked.  hahahah…It’s my instinct..That’s the art of cooking ;)

Last but not least, I love tomato.  So I slice my tomato into two and cook them with the drumstick for few minutes.

So, good luck and enjoy my new recipe – Sambal Chicken Drumstick Seri Indah :)

Nyum nyum..good to eat with white boiled rice and some salad.

Happy Cooking from Emma xoxo.

How to make cheese sauce?–> The recipe ;) May 19, 2009

Hi guys,

Last Saturday, I made my own cheese sauce for my beef lasagna.  I spent like a week to find ‘the’ eveready cheese sauce. I went to Spring supermarket (Tai Kong Supermarket), Boulevard 3rd Mile, Choice Daily Mall, Choice Food Mall in Semariang, and Green Heights Supermarket Mall. But didn’t find.  These are the places that sale import stuffs.  I found some simple recipe of cheese sauce on the net and modified it a little bit. lol.  Do you know why? I bought the wrong cheese.  I should buy grated cheese, not one whole block of cheese. hahahha….

To be honest, I didn’t know whether I could melt cheese on the stove! lol.  I just gambled.  This is the recipe:

3-4 tablespoons of butter

1 block of Kraft Cheese

3 tablespoons of flour

1 and 1/2 cups of milk

Some white pepper

Salt…mmm..I don’t really recommend as cheese and butter are already salty, unless you like salty sauce.  What I did, my cooked minced-beef, I didn’t add salt. lol.

How to do it?

First, melt butter and cheese.  Make sure cheese melts in butter then add flour, milk, pepper.  Stir the sauce constantly till it’s thickening.

Here you go..try it and good luck ;)

Take care and happy cooking.

Love,

Emma xx.

Dear guys,

Guess what, tonight, finally, I made beef lasagna. Yuhu!  2 thumbs up for me!  I thought it was hard to make. But it wasn’t. Just took quite a long time to make.p1041909

p1051913

I got the recipe from my colleague, Amy. Very simple.  At first, I thought to make lasagna would take forever.  Well, it’s true. LOL.  First I had to cook the beef (with onion, tomato sauce, and beef) in the pan.  Then, did the layers (the beef, lasagna sheet, white sauce and so on and so forth. After did the layers, on top of it, I sprinkled a lot cheese. )  After that, baked for 30-40 min.  Depends on your oven.

So guys, another Italian dish I learnt here. Nyum nyum..my housemate liked my first beef lasagna. How cool was that.

All right, have fun in kitchen. Be careful in cooking. I burnt my finger while cooked the beef. ahak!!  So painful..huhuh…but at least my beef lasagna turned good, right?

Love from kitchen~Emma xx.

Hello all..especially to Man who always encourages me to give this recipe.  I’d like to share with everyone my mom’s recipe.

Buttered Prawn Recipe

Ingredients:

First Mixture

1/2 kilo of fresh king prawn.

1 egg

1 can of evaporated milk (any brand, ex: Carnation, Ideal Milk).

White pepper.

My huge apology to Man and you all- I forgot to mention, we need some cornflour. Depends on how much  our prawn is.  Man…so sorry..luckily you called me.  I just remembered because when you told me about your ingredients, then I remembered.  Even though at that time was busy with shopping! heheheh…

Steps:  Mix everything above in a bowl and marinade for at least 30 min. Keep the mixture in the refrigerator.

Second ingredients:

Some onion, garlic, or red onion (just add as much as you like)

1 bowl of cornflakes or oat ( I prefer cornflakes) – squeeze the cornflakes in the bowl into small pieces.

Butter (depends on your prawn).

Some salt.

Some oil.

Steps:

Heat the oil in the frying pan. Not so much of oil because later we are going to use butter.  I prefer olive oil.  You can use any oil as you like. Then, add onion, red onions, and/or garlic. Fry them till golden.  Then put the mixture of marinade king prawn in the frying pan.  Cook the prawn till they are cooked. Then, add the cornflakes and stir them.  Then add butter till you see the prawn and butter with cornflake like you see in seafood restaurants. hehehehhe…  ;)

Good luck and happy cooking.  Nyum nyum nyum…

I apologize about the steps and ‘messy’ recipe.  I am not good in giving recipe.  ;) When I cooked this dish, all my friends loved my buttered prawn.

Tell me what’s the result k.  Especially you, Man ;) This recipe dedicates to Man :D Thanks to my mom. Everytime I cook this dish, I call my mom to reconfirm the recipe. kah kah kah…If you want the right measurement, call my mom ;)

Love~ Emma. xx.
